Wallabies recall Rob Simmons to face Pumas

Rob Simmons will make his 75th Test appearance having been named as the only change to the Wallabies’ starting XV to play Argentina in Canberra on Saturday.

He will start alongside Adam Coleman in the second row, with Rory Arnold dropped from the matchday 23. Reds lock Izack Rodda will win his second Test cap if called upon from the bench at GIO Stadium.

Rugby league convert Marika Koroibete, meanwhile, is in line to become Wallaby 913 from, and Australia’s 10th debutant of 2017, after being named among the replacements. The Rebels winger initially joined the squad for the 2016 Spring Tour and this year’s June Series.

Seven players are set to be released from the squad to play in Round Three of the National Rugby Championship, with Adam Korczyk (Brisbane City), Lukhan Tui (Brisbane City), Joe Powell (Canberra Vikings), Rory Arnold (Canberra Vikings), Billy Meakes (Perth Spirit), Curtis Rona (Perth Spirit) and Lopeti Timani (Melbourne Rising) to be available after completing their Wallabies duties.
