REAL Madrid will take on Atletico Madrid in the UEFA Champions League semi finals.

Juventus and Monaco will contest the other semi final in the final four.

The semi-final ties will be played May 2-3 and 9-10, with the final taking place in Cardiff on June 3.

Diego Simeone’s Champions League dream with Atletico has been crushed by Atletico’s city counterparts in the 2014 and 2016 finals, but this presents them with another chance to exact revenge.

11-time champion Real, in a seventh straight semi, are looking to become the first team to defend the title since it became the UCL in 1992.

Real edged Bayern Munich and Atletico passed Leicester to make the final four, while Juventus got there past Barcelona in impressive fashion, not conceding over 180 minutes. Monaco are in scintillating form in Ligue 1, and outplayed Borussia Dortmund.

Juventus are looking for their first European title since 1996, while Monaco return to the final four for the first time since 2004, when they went on to lose the final to Porto.
