As we previously saw in its H&M collaboration, Kenzo likes to feature a diverse cast of creatives in its campaigns. For its spring 2017 ads, the brand tapped Durimel–L.A. based twin photographers Jalan and Jibril Durimel–to photograph Black-ish star (and new Golden Globe winner) Tracee Ellis Ross, actor/activist Jesse Williams, and cellist/singer Kelsey Lu.
All three star in the upcoming Kenzo short film “Music is My Mistress,” written and directed by Kahlil Joseph (whom you might recognize as one of the key forces behind Beyoncé’s Lemonade). The film will debut on February 9 and, as the brand shares on its website, will showcase that “music is much more than mere sound and rhythm. This story casts music herself as the central character of an unfolding drama across cultures, space, and time.”
