Quincy Acy inks deal with Brooklyn Nets on his wedding day

Not too many people are happier than Quincy Acy right now.

After signing on with the Brooklyn Nets late last season, journeyman forward Quincy Acy’s contract of roughly $1.7 million went from un-guaranteed to fully guaranteed yesterday – the same day he tied the knot with his Baylor sweetheart.

Acy, who succeeded two 10-day contracts and was picked up by Brooklyn full-time in January, agreed to the veteran minimum with Brooklyn and ostensibly confirmed his guaranteed money by retweeting this tweet from his honeymoon in Dallas, Texas:

Acy’s wife Jessica’s tweet went viral about a month ago, posting photos of the two with the caption: “Started in the friend zone… Now we’re getting married in 30 days.”

At the age of 26, Acy is a hustle player whose improved three-point shot could earn him a much larger sum of money somewhere else once he becomes a free agent; but for now, he might as well enjoy his time in Brooklyn.

The couple was congratulated on Instagram by Knicks players, including Lance Thomas and Kyle O’Quinn.
