Kristaps Porzingis is paying homage to his home — both his new and his old.
The Knicks star player, who signed with Adidas last fall, will be sporting a new sneaker this year when he takes the court, one that pays tribute to his home country of Latvia, new home of New York and — of course — the Knicks, according to Nice Kicks.
Porzingis’ shoe, which can be seen here, will have a black feature with purple and orange accents. The right shoe has a Statue of Liberty outline on the bottom while the left features Latvia’s Freedom Monument statue.
The shoe is part of Adidas’ “Crazy Explosive series.”
Porzingis previously wore an edition of Adidas’ Crazy Explosive shoes last season. Those, however, were less unique and primarily just featured the Knicks’ colors.
