Brazilian 18-year-old Lucas Kohl is switching from John Cummiskey Racing to join rookie Calvin Ming in Pabst Racing’s USF2000 lineup.
Kohl, the 2014 Brazilian Formula Junior national champion, will drive the #23 Pabst Racing Tatuus USF-17 Mazda, after scoring a best result of sixth at IMS road course last year.
He said: “I feel really motivated; I learned a lot in my first year. I’m also really happy about being with Pabst Racing. They always do a great job and I’m convinced we can have a run for the championship.”
Augie Pabst, team owner, commented: “Lucas is coming to us with a full season under his belt and second year drivers have a history of great results in the series.
“We are thrilled to have Lucas entering his sophomore season with our team. We can’t wait to get started.”
The team will be in the Mazda Road To Indy test at Homestead road course on Feb. 28th.
