Milla Jovovich made a memorable appearance in Luc Besson’s The Fifth Element, but it was her star turn in Resident Evil that established her reputation in the world of action movies. As Alice, a woman who wakes up in an underground facility with her memory gone, she must battle an army of zombies and mutated animals to survive.
Throughout the next five installments of the franchise, Jovovich proved her mettle time and again as an action star. Her dramatic talents gave Alice more meaning and depth as the series progressed. Resident Evil: The Final Chapter (above) brought a degree of closure for her character. Soon after it was released, we heard that the Resident Evil series will be rebooted, with James Wan (Aquaman) serving as producer and an entirely new cast to be enlisted.
What will Jovovich do next? She is in final talks to join a reboot of Hellboy, according to Deadline. If things work out, she will play the Blood Queen
The movie is currently titled Hellboy: Rise of the Blood Queen, so obviously it’s a big role. Different than nearly every other movie in which Jovovich has appeared, however, Nimue the Blood Queen is a villainous character. Born during the reign of King Arthur, she was an evil and powerful witch who was so wicked that other witches killed her. Centuries later, she was brought back to life and became known as the Goddess of War. Soon she engages in an epic battle with Hellboy.
Hellboy creator Mike Mignola is happy about the possibility. He shared the following message on social media.
