LeBron jets to NYC for 2 hours of hoops, then flies back to Ohio

LeBron James’ passion for hoops knows no limits.

The NBA superstar flew a private jet to New York Tuesday morning to play pick-up basketball with the likes of Carmelo Anthony and Kevin Durant for a couple hours before jetting back to Ohio, ESPN reported.

“He just has a love for basketball,” a source close to James told ESPN.

The three-time NBA champion had an event for his LeBron James Family Foundation later on in the day on Tuesday, but that didn’t stop him from squeezing in a few pick-up games with friends.

The games took place at Life Time Athletic at Sky, a luxury health club in Manhattan.

Anthony, who regularly works out at Sky’s gym, and his trainer Chris Brickley first posted videos of the sessions to Instagram Tuesday. Brickley also trains Kevin Durant.

Among the other NBA players at the elite session were the Knicks’ Lance Thomas, Thunder forward Enes Kanter, and LeBron’s teammates J.R. Smith and Dahntay Jones.

LeBron is also headed to Los Angeles in the near future for some pick-up action on the west coast as well.
