Ball in the family.
After recently appearing on WWE Raw, LaVar Ball and his family will soon have a reality TV show of their own. The Balls are set to star in a series produced by Facebook, according to Deadline.com.
The number and length of episodes of the series has yet to be announced. The Ball reality show is going to be one of two shows Facebook will launch as part of their efforts to get more into video.
LaVar Ball seems like he’s been born to be on a reality show and his family could also be a good fit.
LaVar has been outspoken for his son, No. 2 overall pick and Lakers guard Lonzo Ball, in the days leading up the draft. He appeared on various sports shows, launched a family clothing ling called Big Baller Brand and is no stranger to making headlines.
Lavar showed up on WWE Raw last week where he jumped in the ring, tore off his shirt and challenged WWE wrestler The Miz. Also at the show were Lonzo and one of his other sons, UCLA commit LaMelo Ball.
Lonzo has the potential to become an NBA star, reportedly signing a four-year, $33 million rookie deal this week. His brother, LiAngelo Ball, will be a freshman this year looking to make a name for himself like his brother did.
Nick Grudin, Facebook’s vice president of media partnerships, told Deadline.com the website’s goal is to create another platform people can come to for video and shows.
“To help get there, we’re supporting a small group of partners and creators as they experiment with the kinds of shows you can build a community around — from sports to comedy to reality to gaming,” Grudin said.
The upcoming Ball TV series does not have an official name or release date yet.
