JGR crew chief Dave Rogers takes indefinite personal leave

Joe Gibbs Racing announced Wednesday evening that crew chief Dave Rogers will take an indefinite personal leave. No other information was made available.

Rogers, who led the No. 19 Monster Energy Cup team of Daniel Suarez, has served JGR as a MENCS crew chief full-time since 2010, winning 18 races.

Scott Graves has been moved up from the No. 18 JGR Xfinity Series team to take over Rogers’ role immediately. Graves worked with the Mexican driver during the 2015 and 2016 NXS seasons, winning the 2016 title together.

Five races into the 2017 Cup season, Suarez sits 19th in the championship standings and heads to Martinsville on the heels of back-to-back top ten finishes.
