Fiji defeated South Africa 22-0 in the Hong Kong Sevens final to claim their first tournament victory of the 2016-17 series.
The Olympic champions were unbeaten all weekend and rounded off their campaign scoring four tries against the Blitzboks and gaining their third consecutive win in Hong Kong, with a brace from Kalione Nasoko and a try each from Sevuloni Mocenacagi and Mesulame Kunavula.
Fiji jump to second place in the standings ahead of England while the Blitzboks remain on top with three tournaments remaining this season.
Earlier on Sunday Fiji had beaten Australia 33-12 in the semi-final, while the South African side defeated USA in a 29-24 thriller with Ruhan Nel getting the match-winning try.
In the qualifiers Spain secured a spot on next season’s World Rugby Sevens Series after beating Germany 12-7 in the qualifier final, with Scotland winning the Challenge Trophy while Australia claimed bronze after beating USA.
