Late Model Summer Shootout set for late August at revamped facility
As previously announced in December, Jukasa Motor Speedway will host the APC Series on August 26th – 27th 2017, featuring twin 75-lap events for the Pro Late Models.
Each race will feature a first-place prize of $5,000.00 and a $2,000.00 bonus will be awarded to the overall winner. This will be the first time the Series will use this format which also includes points for both 75-lap races.
In addition to the twin Late Model contests, the track will also host a 75-lap Outlaw Super Late Model race to be held between the Twin 75’s for the APC Series. As is the case for the APC series, practice and qualifying will take place on Saturday with the features on Sunday.
“We feel that the addition of the Outlaw Super Late Models will help make our opening event one to remember,” said Alex Nagy Jukasa’s General Manager. “Between the two classes of Late Models our fans will see the best this Province has to offer and hopefully we will have some surprise competitors and some make the trip from south of the Border as well.”
In addition to the APC Series event, the Outlaw competitors will also be racing for $5,000.00 to win.
The facility is undergoing a complete makeover thanks to new ownership from Kenny Hill and Jerry Montour and a commitment to improve the fan experience according to Nagy.
“We plan on making this a complete entertainment complex,” he added. “We’ll have the capability to host music concerts, festivals and other events in addition to special racing events.”
The facility continues work on finishing 1,100 campsites with 600 of them already set up to provide service to campers.
“Work continues here at Jukasa Motor Speedway and we appreciate everyone who’s working hard to help us get ready for our 2017 opener and we’re thrilled to have two great series come in and help us reopen this facility,” Nagy added. “It’s going to be a great weekend.”
