'Black Panther' Video Showcases Warriors of Wakanda

Black Panther

Riding a mighty, positive wave of acclaim, Marvel Studios’s Black Panther has been outpacing all superhero movies in advance sales for Fandango’s online ticketing service, and is Certified Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes. What has drawn such wide interest? Fandango surveyed more than 1,000 moviegoers; we found out that 97% are anticipating a different kind of superhero movie; 86% are excited to see the Dora Milaje, special forces in the African nation of Wakanda who are charged with protecting King T’Challa (aka Black Panther, played by Chadwick Boseman) and ensuring the security of the country

In a behind-the-scenes featurette, the film’s strong female warriors are showcased. Danai Gurira talks about her character Okoye; she leads the Dora Milaje. We also hear from Lupita Nyong’o, who plays Nakia; she represents a challenge to that tradition. The action that is glimpsed is fierce, forceful and dynamic.
